Eat Taiwan: Alice is Coming, a themed cafe.
Before traveling to Taiwan, I did a little bit of research to find some themed cafes that we can visit. On our last night, we finally decided to drop by Alice is Coming. I grew up loving the story of Alice in Wonderland, so I knew I just had to go and visit this cafe.
Ambiance
Once you open the door of this cafe, you will feel like you are entering a rabbit hole. The place smells of something baking. If you’ve been to Disney Land, you’ll know what I am talking about!
The cafe plays music from the soundtrack of the Alice in Wonderland movies, and it does make the cafe feel eerie.
There are a lot of photo spots inside the cafe, so if you love posting photos on Instagram, you will definitely enjoy the cafe.
Service
Their service was really good. The waitresses were wearing Alice costumes and were very attentive. Although they weren’t fluent in English, they do try to express themselves and make sure that their customers are comfortable and served well. One of the waitresses told us that she has been to the Philippines and that it was beautiful. Aww…
Food
We only ordered 3 coffees and banana chocolate pancakes, so we can only swear by these. The cups are so adorable that I want one, too! Too bad they don’t sell them.
Value For Your Money
In Taiwanese standards, the food is quite cheap, but in Filipino standards, it is quite expensive. A cup of coffee costs NTD160 to NTD200. Roughly Php300 to Php400 per cup. The Banana Chocolate Pancakes cost NTD200. But since this is a themed cafe and you are also paying for the ambiance, I think it’s worth the trip! Plus, you can always split the dessert!
