Travel Taiwan: Meteor Garden Fever!

Read Time:2 Minute, 25 Second

If you ever purchased a 3-Day THSR Tourist Pass, and is a fan of Meteor Garden, please pass by Chiayi. We decided to stop there first before heading to Kaohsiung. I mean, why not? It’s only 30-minutes away from Taichung.

Once we arrived at Chiayi Station, we decided to leave our luggage in the lockers. We took a cab and showed this to the driver “National Chung Cheng University (國立中正大學)”. It is very important to let have the Chinese equivalent of the places that you are going to because it helps the drivers understand you better. Google translate also helps, but takes a long time, so Google the places right away and have it on the ready.

When we arrived, my sister and I got really emotional. We were both teary-eyed and overcome by nostalgia. We both remembered rushing home just to catch Meteor Garden on TV. Walking around the school to find some of the famous spots left us feeling surreal. We only gave ourselves less than an hours to roam around because we still need to get to Kaohsiung.

Where are the famous lockers?

Inside that library are the lockers. The famous lockers. Once you get inside, turn to your right, and you will see a set of winding stairs. Just go down the basement and you will see those lockers.

Dao Ming Si giving you the red card is not the best thing in the world, but the feels of having to stand in front of the lockers…so surreal! Only fangirls would ever understand!

Touching the locker for luck.

My sister and I felt like university students walking around the campus. Those were the best 45-minutes of our Taiwanventure!

How to get to National Chung Cheng Univesity:

By taking a cab:
If you’re a group of 3-4 persons, just pay for the TWD500 ride and split them. It saves you a lot of time. It takes about 30-minutes from the train station to the university. Just show this to the driver: National Chung Cheng University (國立中正大學).

By bus:
From Chiayi THSR station, Take Bus 106 (Taiwan Tour Bus Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum route)  and alight at NCCU. The bus ride takes about an hour, so if you have more time to spare and want to save money, take this route.

    1. Or is it possible to do a Chaiyi tour in the first half of the day and Taichung on the second half? 🙂 Thanks!

    1. Hi, Rica. You may ride Bus 106 from Chiayi Station then alight at NCCU stop. It will enter the campus (Bus 106). However, I did not take this route as it takes about an hour to get there, so we took a cab for 30-mins.
