You have decided to apply for trvalého pobytu, so what are the permanent residency requirements? This is a follow-up article in my last post where I gave an overview of the Permanent Residency process. Note that I applied last September 2016, you need to check the website for current requirements. All documents should be the latest/current and must be in the Czech Language.
The requirements below apply to citizens from Non EU, third country nationals, and Filipinos who came to Czech Republic for work and are independent. People who are married or who has a relationship with an EU national have a different set of requirements.
The following are the Permanent Residency requirements:
- Application form
Fill out the application form properly. The woman who assisted me was furious when I had one item incorrect, so be mindful.
- Travel Document
Submit a valid Passport.
- Fulfillment of the condition of 5 years continuous temporary residence
Work contract must include the page that states your current salary needs to be submitted. In addition you also need a confirmation from the company, you may need to ask your HR or employer for this form.
- 2 Photographs
- Proof of accommodation
You need to fill out and print the form. And then, the flat owner must have it notarized.
- Proof of funds
Ask from your bank the latest 3 months account statement with a bank stamp. In addition, you also need a document from your employer stating your salary for the last 3 months. There is a certain amount that you should be earning to qualify you for the Permanent Residency. When I applied, I was told that I should have an estimate of +-14,000 Czech crowns a month. The amount is higher when you have a family.
- Czech language exam certificate
It is best to have a notarized copy of the certificate that you got from the school. The Ministry of Interior will take the original copy. In case your application is denied, you need to ask the school another copy of the certificate. The copy may cost around 1000 Czech crowns.
- Employee Card/Long Term Residency Card
- Insurance Card
- Document similar to an extract from the Penal Register record.
Upon request of the Ministry of Interior.
